This year’s May Hand Sale opens on Thursday 21st May from 6 – 9pm with new collections from our regulars and exciting newcomers. Here are a selection of some of the wares to be found and as always, many friends to catch up with.
CUSHION STOCKS WERE RUNNING LOW SO UNTIL NEW ONES ARE MADE I HAVE ADDED A SMALL GROUP TO THE ONLINE SHOP, SOME COLOURS ARE AVAILABLE IN ONLY ONE SIZE OR VERY A FEW IN NUMBEER, BUT I HOPE TO HAVE MORE READY IN ABOUT THREE WEEKS. Spoons will be added next week and details for The Hand Sale will be published shortly (save the date in your diary – 21st, 22nd and 23rd May)
I will be selling cushions at each of these events (and wooden spoons at Remodelista Market, The Hand Sale and Hein Bonger’s),details of each event will be added to nearer the time:
15th November – REMODELISTA LONDON MARKET at The New Craftesman – Mayfair, London
20th November – EVENT at Ochre – Broome Street, New York
20th – 22nd November – THE HAND SALE at The 20th Century Theatre – Notting Hill, London
25th,26th November – CATTS HILL CHRISTMAS SALE – Clopton, Suffolk
5th – 11th December – A WEEK at Hein Bonger’s Shop – Saxmundham, Suffolk
New colours of hand dyed velvet cushions will be added this week with the introduction of free shipping on all UK orders of hand dyed cushions and also includes a curled feather pad.
Small quantities of fabric are dyed at a time and made into cushions with some colours selling out quickly. This is done to introduce new colours more frequently to try and suit a wide range of tastes. Popular favourites will return over time. If you need help choosing colours please email for swatches or to be added to the mailing list for private sales and newsletters.
Many velvet cushions are available online but to achieve these colours quite a lengthy process is involved, resulting in each piece being unique, some with more and some with less subtle veins of colour running through the fabric.
……….Hand carved spoons have at last been added to the shop with new designs and favourites.
Once again on the first two days, Asa Simmonson will downstairs as you enter with her completely delicious and restorative food combinations, highly recommended if you haven’t stopped to try it before. New stands this time include Soler (just a tiny trial rail last sale), Drift, Sarah Treffkorn, Yolke, Fetching Goods, Hannah Tunstall-Berhens, Sir Plus, Melania Findletar, Myrtle Accessories,Bathsheba, Elfie Kids.Returning with new work or collections from travels are Sylvie Franquet, Sarah Cohen, Molly Mahon, Still, Sasha Kamen and Janey Smedley. Plus of course our constant favourites.
